Feel free to use this page to submit assignments, find due dates, upcoming assignments, review the syllabus, and much more. This Biology class is largely designed to be hands on with labs, projects, discussions, homework and tests. We will spend a considerable amount of time working in small groups in order to collaborate and share ideas. I am very excited to teach this course. Biology and other life sciences are a passion of mine and I will enjoy sharing it with you. All assignments and the course schedule can be found below as well as a place to submit work electronically. "In academia today exploration, originality, creativity and discovery are particularly valued. You will not distinguish yourself in academia these days by merely knowing a whole lot of information - which is free on the internet. You distinguish yourself by being able to apply this knowledge to new contexts creatively and by uncovering knowledge gaps." -- Myron Dueck |

I am willing to work with you so you can earn any grade you feel you deserve. This does not mean it comes without work or effort, it simply means I will do my best to help you achieve your best. I am you ally for earning your grade, I want to work with you so you can do your best. There will be a large amount of assignments throughout the semester, plenty in order to earn the grade you deserve.
This class spends a considerable amount of time outdoors in the fall and spring. Students will be expected to participate in outdoor activities. Advanced notice of these dates will be provided.
The grading breakdown is as follows:
Exams: 30%
Quizzes: 15%
Science Practices / Lab Work: 30
Daily Assignments: 15%
Final Exam: 10%
GRADING SCALE:
A=100-93.0% A- =92.9-90.0% B+=89.9-87.0%
B=86.9-83.0% B- =82.9-80.0% C+=79.9-77.0%
C=76.9-73.0% C- =72.9-70.0% D+=69.9-67.0%
D=66.9-63% D- =62.9-60.0% F=59.9% and lower
- I do not round grades, if you receive an 89.9% your grade will be a B+.
- All written work must be legible. If I cannot read it, I cannot grade it.
- All work must be handed in when the teacher collects it to receive full credit.
I do expect all work and assignments to be completed on time and of your highest quality. I hold academic integrity to the highest regard, there is absolutely no excuse for cheating of any sort. Any cheating will result in an automatic zero for the person caught cheating and the person they are cheating off of (if the second party is knowingly participating). I am always willing to help and assist, I request you come to me with any questions or concerns.
EXAMS AND QUIZZES: Exams will be given approximately every 3-4 weeks and quizzes will be given approximately every week. Always be prepared for a pop quiz because they may happen at any time.

- You will only retake the questions you missed. One make up opportunity per test.

Missed labs due to excused absences only can be completed by the student up to one week after returning back to school. Consult with the teacher to set up a time and date to make up the lab. Sometimes it is impractical to leave lab materials set up in a busy classroom, or in an outdoor setting, for an extended period of time. Make up labs may have to be adapted by the teacher with the use of videos/podcasts along with a modified procedure and lab write-up to be completed and turned in.
